The Jetpack Superheroes are acoustic comedy singer/songwriters that focus on writing the most beautiful and honest love songs, usually at the expense of the message of love.
They started out as a rock ukulele trio that played parody songs. As it turns out, nobody cared about ukulele rock parodies, not even the band, so Jon and Paul went back to their musical roots of playing instruments people liked.
With normal sized instruments came normal sized parody success with songs such as "Lay me off" (Gotye's "Cut Me Off") and "You're Face is Tasty" (Carly Rae Jepson's "Call Me Maybe") but the band quickly learned that parody songs had lost their novelty. At this time Jon was getting married and had written some goofy love songs to his future wife. Per his mother's request to "kill time at the wedding shower between dinner and games," Jon played the song "These Things Will Happen." The response was positive and there were many requests to have it recorded and shared so the band piled into Paul's bedroom, plugged everything into a cheap guitar amp, and put a phone near it to record like professionals. Despite it's low quality, people enjoyed it and the switch was made to all original music.
Since their first accidental success, the Jetpack Superheroes have built up a respectable internet following, been featured on radios across North America, won awards in the USA and Canada, and can be seen playing in festivals and concerts as well as on their youtube and twitch channels.
